Ingredients

  • 4 pears
  • cinnamon powder
  • 1 tbsp honey can be substituted with maple syrup
  • 60 g / 1/4 cup water for small-medium baking dish; add more if you use large baking dish

Toppings:

  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp hazelnut butter
  • a small handful of chopped walnuts
  • raisins

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 200C/ 390F. Line a baking pan with parchment paper. For 4 servings (pears), you’ll need a medium-sized baking sheet.
  • Wash and dry the pears, then cut them in half lengthwise. With a small spoon, scoop out the seeds. Optionally slice a little bit of the skin on the bump of each pear half so they don’t move when you place them on the pan without moving.
  • Transfer the pears to the prepared baking dish with the cut side facing up (skin side down). Sprinkle the pears with the desired amount of cinnamon, then drizzle the honey over the top. Add the water to the bottom of the pan.
  • Bake at 200C for 15 minutes, then lower the heat to 180C/355F for another 15 minutes. The tops of the pars won’t change much, the skin will get brown. To check if they are ready, you can insert a knife or fork and the inside should be tender.
  • Drizzle the baked pears with some more honey and hazelnut butter. Optionally add raisins and sliced walnuts over the top.
